I just saw that Sororkin is the only Islander goalie to ever have back to back shutouts on 3 different occasions.

Bullpoop, there's no way Kevin Poulin didn't do that at least 14 times

Here is where I accidentally started that rumor from the previous blog.....

Not sure what it would take? He hasn’t had the best season with injuries. Not sure what we could possibly offer? Our 2025 first?
- Cptmjl

As he would be a rental at or near the trade deadline, we ought to be able to get him cheaper than if we traded for him a couple years ago. I have no idea what St. Louis' plans are in terms of blowing up the team and starting over vs. a less drastic rebuild. Maybe we could get him for a couple of 2nd round picks and Josh Bailey?

#Isles morning skate:

Bailey-Horvat-Barzal
Lee-Nelson-Palmieri
Parise-Pageau-Holmstrom
Martin-Cizikas-Fasching

Romanov-Mayfield
Pelech-Pulock
Bolduc-Dobson

Sorokin
Varlamov

I liked Bolduc a lot the other night, but I don't love taking Aho out of the lineup. That's good mobility lost on the back-end.

I thought Bolduc moved the puck up ice pretty well also. I assume they want to take a longer look at Bolduc or maybe they are showcasing him.

That last part is something I wondered about after I saw that lineup at morning skate

Aho is small and gets knocked off the puck, like his game but they weren't sitting Romanov even if he deserved it more than aho

Agreed. Romanov is going to take some time and the team is going to give it him after locking him up.

All kidding aside if we can somehow find a way of getting him as a rental I’m all for it. I think with Horvat off the board Tarasenko’s value went up a bit but I’m not really sure what St Louis is looking for? Maybe he plays down the stretch with us, likes it here, and we can lock him up to a semi reasonable maybe four/five yr contract. Wishful thinking I’m sure.

The guy just came back from yet another injury. You'd think you could get him at a reasonable price(two 2nds and Bailey)
If the Isles do well in the next 5 games, I think Lou pulls the trigger and gets Tarasenko. He would improve the PP tremendously.
